Although travel slows down this time of year, it’s not due to any lack of activities or beauty around us @ Stoneridge Townhomes in Sunriver. November is a time for family, setting the time back and changing seasons. Going into winter creates a charming ambiance in these parts of Oregon- it’s still warm enough to get outside and hike yet cool enough to curl up next to a fireplace with some hot cocoa and watch the light snow flurries land in your back yard. Come spend your holiday season with us; bring the Family and enjoy a fun Thanksgiving away from the ordinary or have a peaceful and romantic get-away with your loved one.

Our homes are a perfect location for your November adventures- the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway will be closing @ Bachelor for the winter later this month but that doesn’t stop outdoor activity in a place like this. There are still plenty of options to spend time in nature and soak it all in. Right down the road is Lava Butte. In the summer Lava Butte is packed with people driving up and down to the lookout tower at the summit. Come fall, you get it all to yourself. Since the road is closed you’ll get the opportunity to walk the 1.5 paved miles. The outstanding 360° views of the snow-capped peaks make it all worth it.

For a bit longer drive, head out to Tumalo Falls near Bend- it just opened back up after being under construction and it’s a sight to be seen- especially in the winter when it starts to frost. The falls are not far from the parking area and if the weather is decent there are multiple hikes from there that are beyond spectacular. Afterwards, a favorite thing to do is to find a warm fire pit and a good beer. Bend is known for its amazing breweries, many of which have outdoor fire pits for us to enjoy. McMenamins, 10 Barrel, Worthy Brewing, Crux, or Goodlife just to name a few. It’s never disappointing to spend an evening next to a warm fire after a long day spent outside.

Even though getting out and exploring the area is always fun, sometimes it’s just more peaceful to spend time centrally located near your vacation home in Sunriver. Don’t worry, there is plenty to do here! Just across the road in the Village is the ice skating rink that will be opening for the season on November 21st – it’s always a ton of fun! If you’re fortunate enough to spend Thanksgiving in such an awesome place as Stoneridge, you can opt to cook in your own home and have a nice family meal or you could head out to Carson’s American Kitchen (reservations required) and be able to fully enjoy your delicious Thanksgiving meal without the trouble of cooking or cleaning.

Remember that all of our homes have wi-fi. You can take advantage of Black Friday by avoiding the hustle and getting it done from the comfort of your own home! Or if you’re not much of a shopper, you can head down to the Sunriver Turkey Trot 5K Fun Run/Walk for some post huge-dinner exercise and fun! Regardless of what you decide to do, I can assure you that you will find fun here @ Stoneridge Townhomes. Come spend your holidays with us!
